How to clean your house in ten minutes
We all have been there and done that. You are relaxing on Saturday evening, having fun and minding your own business. Maybe you are catching up your favorite TV shows or reading your favorite book or probably playing some board games with your family. Suddenly it happens that you get a text message that your old roommate is coming to meet you or your in-laws have planned a trip at the eleventh hour. Yes, you are going to be the host now. Amazing! So now, your kitchen is stocked with a bottle of juice, crackers, and everyone favorite cookies. But you have just one problem, your home is one hell of a mess. For everyday life, it’s tolerable. But for hosting friends or family. Nah! not up to the mark. They are only 10 minutes away and you need to clean all up. Stuck on what to do? Well, we have the plan covered for you. So, get to work! Here are few tips that will make your room spotless and presentable in only one-sixth of an hour. Get all hands on the Deck! Call everyone in your home, neighbour’s home, if needed, to help with the cleaning process irrespective of their gender or age. Assigning tasks will make things easier and quicker. And as everyone knows- Teamwork makes the dream work. Get everyone to help. Assign small tasks to each one and then pick few for yourself too. Go, go, GO! Get rid of the clutter! That’s the reality of life- clutter gets piled up, unknowingly. Stuff gets thrown on the tables, chairs, undet the tables, counters, blazers, tees, towels, tissues, used cups, and jackets find their place in the most innocent of places and the dishes get left in the sink. Clean up these places and put the things back where they belong. If you find yourself running out of time then don’t be afraid to shove things in the closets and arrange them later. We don’t have much time, after all. Too busy you see! Get done with the sink and the counters! Get to surfaces first. Like tables, bathroom, head to kitchen. After finishing all the surface areas, wipe down your counters and sink using the paper towels and a mildly scented soap. You cannot finish the dishes, now rinse them, put them into a tub and shove them into the utility area. You need a dishwasher, don’t you? Get one next time you have a chance. Vacuum in seven minutes! No one wants to step on the dirt. So, run the vacuum through the areas where the guests will go and pick up all the offending dust. Keep a check on the corners too. That’s where most of the dust resides. Put shoes back in the rack while you do it. Hide all the unclean areas in two minutes! You won’t be covering everything in 10 minutes even when your whole family is helping you out. So, an easy solution to keeping the guests away from the untidy places is to shut them off. Closing doors can do wonders. Make some mess: Yes. I am serious. Make some mess to divert the attention. Put some oys on the floor if you have kids. (If you don’t have kids, it might look creepy) But yes, put some toys or magazines and a coffee cup and some game on the floor right next to the carpet and some cushions. You were relaxing remember when the call came? Now use the last 30 secons to dress up and look calm and normal. Order snacks, some chai if you need them. Amaze them!
