How to keep your bathroom guest ready

Reading Time: 2 minutes

One of the things I worry about in my home when guests arrive is the bathroom. Even if it is spic and span, I still worry and double-check. When guests are about to come than most of your time would be reserved for the living room. But the bathroom needs attention too. In this series of DIY tips to maintain a better home, Estate.one would be sharing some ideas for you for making the bathroom guest-ready. The thing is, if the bathroom is ready, then you are ready for guests! From your hand soap to your floors, they are considering every last detail! Clean the room First of all, start by cleaning this room. Bring everything out of the bathroom that is sitting on the floor such as garbage can, rugs, decorative items, tissues, etc. and then focuses on the floor. Sweep the floor Take a broom and sweep the dust business out of there. Pay close attention to around and behind the toilet. Many people forget to clean that area! Toothpaste and shampoo can be a good combination to clean or use diluted Cola or Pepsi! Use ample amounts of water and then rinse it. Declutter Take out all of the unnecessary items from the counter. Remove all of the items that give you the washroom an unorganized look. Invest in some storage such as under the sink cabinet to store any cleaning products. If you want to have a spa look, then this might be the best solution and will look inviting all the time. Also, use child locks to keep the children away from the cabinet. I always insist on having a guest kit ready, unused liquid soaps, shampoos ready in a basket to go on top. Clean, clean, clean… Now we can proceed to the main cleaning. Focus mainly on the shower, toilet, counter-top, faucet and sink. Use soft towels and detergent to clean. Scrub the floor too to get a clean dry look. Have a garbage bag ready to throw stuff you don’t need. Freshen the surroundings If you use rugs in your washroom then don’t forget to shake them out well before putting them back in the washroom. Add some fragrance in the room with deodorizers. Use milder ones that have a soft tone to them. If you need a bit more subtlety then place a dryer sheet at the base of an empty garbage can before the guests arrive. You can also use scented candles to remove the smell. Many festive candles are also available according to the occasion. Replenish and replace There is nothing worse than going to the washroom, doing your business and realizing that the last person who has used the washroom has utilized all of the toilet rolls! So, keep some of the paper ready for your guests if they need it. Hand sanitizers too. Add some greenery! Make your bathroom a little more inviting by adding some flowers to it. You can use a couple of plant pots with artificial plants such as succulents. Let the air in Keep the door open, exhaust on till the last moment and then close them. It will help the odor out and dry the room. There you go. You have successfully guest proofed your bathroom.
